Design ReviewsDesign reviews and the technical review culture have found a home in many high-tech businesses, low-tech too. However, many mature businesses and start-ups are not aware of design reviews or their benefits. Some companies tended to approach a design review as a “gotcha session” where subject-matter experts try to show the room how smart they are and reveal the weaknesses of the team presenting their work.
The successful contemporary design review avoids the drama and makes the process one of learning, product improvement, and finding and eliminating potential problems early, among many other direct and indirect benefits. Design reviews offer a learning and maturing opportunity for all members of the design team.
Experium has proven experience and expertise in (1) developing and executing the design review process and (2) conducting design reviews involving product development, conceptual mechanical design, detail mechanical design, system-level design, and component and product level test.
Working TogetherOur process is straightforward. We are happy to sign your non-disclosure agreement or other documents that you use to protect your interests. Our own contract is a simple agreement that outlines the scope of work, billing rate for each consultant, and maximum expenditure for labor and expenses during the engagement. Invoices are provided on a weekly or monthly basis, depending on the scope of the work. Phone consultations less than 15 minutes during a given consultation effort are not charged.
